Yonah

I know some people will be shocked, but I've decided to try Intel again. I bought a Yonah T2600 ES. Because it's an engineering sample it has unlocked multipliers. Still need to find a board. None are out at the moment. I figured I might as well get a good chip while one was available. The CPU should look similar to the one in the pic.

No surprise here, except I am going to wait and jump ship when the new Conroes are out.

by the way, isn't there some way not to have to type that secret word every post?

The reason I enabled the secret word thing is to avoid getting bombarded by spam.

Conroe should also be good, provided there are decent boards. If you read thru the Intel section at XS, you'll see that a lot of people have had issues with S775 mobos.

The multis are only unlocked downwards. They're not totally unlocked. I should have clarified that.

The Yonah boards are supposed to be available in April, hopefully.

Yonah's are Socket 479. They have 2MB of L2 cache and a bus speed of 667MHz. I have the T2600 which has a default speed of 2.16MHz.
