One of my favorite movies is finally coming out on DVD. Late Spring was made in 1949 and directed by Ozu Yasujiro. It tells the story of a widower who feels compelled to marry off his only daughter who he loves very much. It's a very touching film. The Criterion Collection is releasing the DVD version, so the quality of the transfer will likely be good.
